So you’ve applied for a new Chase credit card (Sapphire Preferred, Southwest Rapid Rewards, United Airlines Explorer, Marriott Bonvoy, etc.), you’ve been approved, and after what seems like an eternity (even though it’s only been 7-10 days), your new card finally arrives in the mail. It looks so shiny and pretty, but wait. Where’s the information regarding the most important part? You don’t see anything that talks about the minimum spend or the bonus points. Is this the right card? Did I screw up during the application process? Something must be wrong!

Don’t panic. You’re fine! What I have learned over the years is that the piece of paper they send out with your new card is the same for everyone and every offer. They don’t put your minimum spend or your signup bonus on there as they change offers quite often. I also have to assume they don’t mind if you miss the minimum spend and miss the bonus.

If you don’t want to take my word for it (nor am I making any guarantees), you can always call the number on the back of your shiny, pretty new card and talk to customer service. Hopefully they can confirm the offer you’ve agreed to and you can start spending to meet the necessary minimum spend!
